Praia Mole is the hip, youthful center of Florianopolis beach culture. Its 960 meters sit between Atlantic Forest-covered hills, with perfect surf and bodyboard waves and trendy beach bars on the sand. A trail on the right leads to Galheta (nude beach). Parking is atop the hill with stairway or ramp access down to the sand.
Via SC-406 from Lagoa da Conceicao heading east. About 10 minutes from the Lagoa.
December to March for beach and parties. Year-round for surfing. Summer is very crowded.
Galheta is the only official nudist beach in Florianopolis with 800 meters between rocky outcrops. No infrastructure, accessible by 15-minute trail from Praia Mole. Nudism is optional. A wild pristine environment offering one of the most authentic nature experiences on the island.
Joaquina is Florianopolis most famous 3 km surf beach with waves up to 3 meters. Host to international championships, its iconic dunes offer sandboarding. Located on the east coast with bars, restaurants, and board rentals. Best waves come with south and southeast swells.
Barra da Lagoa is a fishing village with 2.5 km of beach on east Florianopolis. It offers surf waves on the north end, a crystal-clear channel for swimming, and authentic seafood restaurants. The Prainha trail is a must-do. One of the most well-rounded beach experiences on the island.
Lagoa da Conceicao is a 19 km² brackish lagoon in central-east Florianopolis, the island bohemian heart. A culinary hub with dozens of restaurants, bars, and vibrant nightlife. Calm waters are perfect for windsurfing and kitesurfing. An essential stop for all Florianopolis visitors.
